Elio Icaza Milson

Industrial design for work and play in natural environments.

Colors, Materials, Finish is haiku with texture and vibrant imagery.

Imagine physical haiku. Letters with texture and depth, and words that you can hold. Poems whose structure and substance are complementary.

"Colors, Materials, Finish" (CMF) is an artist book of select haiku I've written as a professional poet and industrial designer. They catalog my fascination with the material world while striving to uncover its metaphysical depth.

CMF is a paperboard book for adults. The book features glossy images of digitally-rendered poems. Remember "Goodnight Moon", and its thick paperboard pages? CMF is a homage to these books, and it feels both new and delightfully familiar. Simultaneously poetry, art object, and product, these haiku seek to delight and challenge boundaries in artistic thinking. This brief and delightful volume suits any home or design-forward office.
